Produced and bottled in very small amounts by Richard Graff, the founder of Chalone Vineyards, from his tiny vineyard adjacent to Chalone's. To quote Richard, 'I insist upon the traditional techniques for raising wine which entail minimal handling, so that what comes from the vineyard is carried intact through fermentation and aging, clarification and bottling, into the wine glass.
'Perennial Favorites' on November 2, 1995, at the Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills will feature the great Cabernet Sauvignons of Diamond Creek Vineyards and personable proprietors Al and Boots Brounstein; the classy wines of Long Vineyards with our good friend Bob Long; and the superb wines of Au Bon Climat Winery with the always entertaining Jim Clendenen. For information and invitations to either of these great events, please call the Duke of Bourbon at 818-347-1234.

Special Wines and Offerings
Great New Wines From Long Vineyards
- 1993 Chardonnay- Another in the long line of great Chardonnays produced at the Pritchard Hill estate of the Long family. The 1993 version has lots of rich fruit up front, a full-bodied feel in the mouth, perfectly balanced acid and just the right amount of oak. It finishes 'long' and lingers on the palate. List $30.00; 'Duke's' Special $24.99.
- 1994 Sauvignon Blanc- Enhanced by a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Chardonnay, this is one of the most elegant and enjoyable Sauvignon Blancs produced in the Napa Valley. Loaded with fruit and just a hint of herbaceousness, this wine is ideal by itself and goes especially well with food. $12.50
Long Vineyards
- 1993 Chardonnay $24.99
- 1994 Sauvignon Blanc $12.50
- 1994 Sauvignon Blanc- A classic Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc with rich, floral, fruity aromas nicely supported by crisp, herbaceous undertones. This gem was made with grapes from six different vineyards, each of which lends its own unique character: 42% Yountmill, to give it spicy, citrus, herbal-lemon-thyme character (also 7% Semillion from Yountmill); 14% Juliana, for the richness and floweriness; 12% Red Barn, the estate vineyard, for spicy, herbal character; 11% Leeds, typical Rutherford gooseberries; 10% Rossi, their newest vineyard in Rutherford; 4% Moore, for that Sonoma razor-edge acidity. $11.99
- 1993 Zinfandel- A drinker if there ever was one! Made in the traditional style, it was fermented with natural yeast, aged slowly in French oak and bottled without filtering. With an alcohol level of only 13.5%, it is the ideal wine to take home and open tonight for dinner, or better yet, get a few for the cellar! $12.99
- 1994 Chardonnay- This new release has an assertive nose of pear fruit, yeast and toast announcing a creamy texture and fresh flavors. The wine has great length and finishes clean and fresh. It went through natural malolactic fermentation, traditional barrel fermentation and ten months sur-lies. $12.50

Another winner from the lovely ladies at Spottswoode! Winemaker Pam Starr has crafted their delicious 1992 Cabernet Sauvignon with a tremendous amount of concentrated fruit, a great mouth feel and a long, satisfying finish, Its excellent tannin structure will give it the ability to age for many, many years... but it's so good, you'll want to drink it now! $38.50
You Bet! 1992 Rosenthal-The Malibu Estate
We are thrilled to be able to offer the second vintage of this fantastic wine with its fascinating story.
George and Karen Rosenthal are the owners of this small, well-tended vineyard located off Kanan Road on the way to the Beach in Malibu, California. Their vineyard is on a hillside just above the traditional marine layer that is the usual visitor each night during the growing season. Consequently, the growing conditions are similar to those of the Napa Valley, which are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wine is crafted by Bruno d'Alfonso at the famed Sanford Winery in Buellton, California. It has an enormous amount of fruit with great structure and a wonderfully long finish. If you didn't know it was from Malibu, you'd swear you were drinking top-notch Cabernet from the Napa Valley. It truly is that good. $21.00- Duke's Special- 6 or more bottles $18.99
