Featuring Au Bon Climat & Qupé
We just returned from the Au Bon Climat/Qupé Winery in Santa Maria, CA, where we tasted the 1996 wines produced by stellar winemakers Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat and Bob Lindquist of Qupé. These wines are extremely special and we are thrilled to offer "Futures" on many of them. According to Jim Clendenen, 1996 was a very fine vintage at Au Bon Climat/Qupé. The crop was large, healthy and generous with very high quality. Jim compares it to the famed 1995 vintage in Burgundy, France. The wines should be accessible upon release, yet also able to age well into the next century. Following are notes about the wines, with the ordering particulars:
