Dinner at
PANZANELLA
Featuring the Wines of
Ruggeri, Marotti Campi and Fratelli Alessandria We cordially invite you to join us on Thursday, June 18, 2009, for another wonderful wine dinner at Panzanella Ristorante in Sherman Oaks. Our very special guests will be
GIUSTINO BISOL of RUGGERI, LORENZO MAROTTI CAMPI of MAROTTI CAMPI and VITTORE ALESSANDRIA of FRATELLI ALESSANDRIA, all principals of their outstanding Italian wine estates. They will be in the Los Angeles area for only one day and we are lucky that they have agreed to share the evening with us.Ruggeri is located in the hilly Valdobbiadene area of Treviso, Italy, where the best Prosecco is produced. Founded in 1950 by Giustino Bisol, it is run as a family-owned enterprise in a modern winery. However, the Bisol family name and association with the landgo back to the sixteenth century. Every other generation, a Bisol family member is named Giustino to continue the name of their Riserva Prosecco. According to Gambero Rosso, Italy's highly rated wine publication, the Riggeri Prosecco wines receive the highest scores and show "exceptional quality, good enough for the most demanding palate."
Marotti Campi is situated in Central Italy in the Marche region near Morro d'Alba, an ancient village north of Jesi, which is developed around its castle walls. Their history goes back over a century. Gentle hills and fertile land have always been dedicated toviticulture in the center of the DOC zone of the Lacrima di Morro d'Alba and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico. Lorenzo Marotti Campi, the owner, general manager and export manager, has taken the helm from his father, who originally worked in Europe for Seagram's and only sold their grapes. In 1999, they built a modern winery to produce excellent wines from their ancient Lacrima and Verdicchio grapes.
Fratelli Alessandria is located in a charming Eighteenth Century house near the historic small village of Verduno in the Piedmont region in the northwest portion of Italy. The family has been producing wine since 1870. Today, Vittore Alessandria and his parents continue their ancestors traditions. Their vineyards grow mostly Nebbiolo grapes, but they also yield local grape varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera and the rare Pelaverga, which is found only in the town of Verduno. They are well-known for their award-winning Barolos.
Brothers Tanino Drago and Giacomino Drago, Chefs and Co-owners of PANZANELLA RISTORANTE, have created a beautiful menu to complement the superb Italian wines we are featuring. The Dragos' cuisine and service are always excellent and we know you will enjoy this delicious evening.
