We are pleased to invite members of The Wine Association to join us on Thursday, October 26, 2006, for a superb "Dinner with the Wines of Renato Ratti" at Panzanella Ristorante in Sherman Oaks.

RENATO RATTI WINERY, located in Piedmont, Italy, is famous for producing a wide range of outstanding world-class wines. It was founded in 1965 when Renato Ratti purchased a vineyard at La Morra in the famous production zone of Barolo. His first wine was Barolo Marcenasco, the first single-vineyard wine produced in the region. Ratti soon developed his own style of vinification with the aim of emphasizing the elegance, subtlety and longevity of the Nebbiolo grape. Today, the firm of Renato Ratti, is recognized as one of the finest producers of Barolo and other wines from the Langhe region.

Renato's son, PIETRO RATTI, now heads up the winery his father founded. His passion and commitment are evident in his winemaking philosophy - "First and foremost: lavish great care on the vines to obtain the best grapes possible. Then, respect those grapes in the cellar so as to achieve the best wine possible. Balance, elegance, refinement, complexity: these are the characteristics that I wish for my wines, from beginning to end. This is the philosophy passed on to me by my father and to which I abide every day, at every vineyard, for every vintage, on every wine." We are absolutely delighted that Pietro will be with us this evening to share two of his single-vineyard Barolos as well as several of his other excellent wines.

PANZANELLA RISTORANTE is located at the former home of Posto Ristorante where we held so many wonderful wine dinners over the years. Here Tanino Drago and his brothers Cologero and Giacomino have established one of the San Fernando Valley's finest dining destinations. CHEF TANINO is extremely pleased to welcome The Wine Association to Panzella to continue our tradition and he has created an exciting menu to complement the exciting Renato Ratti wines. This is certain to be a memorable evening.
