Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon
"Buenos dias." Our topic today is 2007 Clio from Jumilla, Spain. Normally we hold off until Robert Parker releases his review, but we could not help ourselves on this beauty. It is simply too good to make you wait. Previous vintages have garnered rave reviews and high scores: 2003 - RP96, 2004 - RP97, 2005 & 2006 - RP95. We have every reason to think that Parker will rave about the 2007 vintage like he has in the past. Magnificent pedigree!Clio is a fabulous blend of Monastrell (about 70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon. A Super-Jumillan?? The wine is always layered, opulent, and full-flavored with superb concentration and balance. The winemaking is overseen by Australian superstar winemaker Chris Ringland, whose efforts are always met with great favor by the critics and writers. The elegant packaging is an apt indicator of the wine inside.
Clio is meant to retail for $50.00, but the Duke has this perennial RP95+ wine for you for $44.99 per bottle and, when purchased by the 6-pack, save another 5% per bottle - just $42.50 each.
