Black Bart 2006 Marsanne

We tasted this beauty in the store earlier this week and were astounded. A beautiful, brilliant yellow with a nose of honeyed orange and almonds that simply explodes from the glass. You can taste ripe peaches and apricots on the palate and the finish is loooong. The texture of the wine is striking - succulent and creamy, but with a core of minerality that shines through. The wine is built for food - elegant and crisp enough for oysters dressed in Champagne vinaigrette or dayboat scallops in tarragon butter, but with enough body to stand up to roast pork loin or a cheese souffle.
