Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon

Each year, the Duke tries to find an ideal UP-SCALE GIFT for the holidays. One that goes with the season, looks beautiful, tastes delicious and is versatile. Here is one that fits the bill! It makes a lovely hostess gift, an impressive gift for business associates or clients and a tasty addition to either a holiday feast or the New Year's celebration!

Champagne de Venoge 1995 Louis XV comes in a remarkable gift package with two stylish flutes. The beautiful, cut-crystal bottle becomes a decanter (crystal stopper is included) once you have lapped up every drop of the nectar within.

de Venoge is not just another pretty face! This is serious Champagne! The Wine Spectator reviewed it earlier this year and scored it in the mid-90s.

The House of de Venoge was founded in Epernay, France, in 1837 by Henri-Marc de Venoge. While very well known in France - remarkably, half of the Michelin-starred restaurants there pour the Brut by the glass - de Venoge was not available in the United States for most of the last decade.

One of the most important features of de Venoge Champagnes is the length of time the wines are aged. There is no formula. The wines rest on the lees in the cellars until the winemaster feels they are ready. The wines are then disgorged on demand to ensure freshness. The longer the wines rest on the lees, the richer and more complex they become.

The Louis XV was aged for 11 years! It is a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir and is a 100% Grand Cru. Originally created exclusively for the royal houses of Europe, this tete de cuvee is named for King Louis XV, who declared in 1728 that Champagne would be the only wine made and sold in bottles. (Prior to this, everything was sold in barrel.) This allowed Dom Ruinart to perfect the secondary fermentation and create the first sparkling Champagne in 1729. The bottle is a replica of the type used for Champagne in the 19th century.

Only 25 cases were imported to this country and the Duke has the Los Angeles exclusive on this superb Champagne. This is a rare, fabulous wine, great gift package and a terrific value.

The Duke has this IDEAL GIFT for you at just $159.99 each. While we do not have an endless supply, we are not planning to limit purchases at this time.

But, don't take the chance!
