Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon

We realize that this email will be a little longer than usual, so we won't waste space on a long introduction.
Let's move on to those heavy hitters!

Caymus 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, Special Select - RP 92-94
Parker's notes: "A barrel sample of the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection offers terrific fruit intensity and purity, a more laid-back style, a meaty, chewy texture, and impressive opulence as well as length. It should evolve for 10-15 years."
$175.00 per bottle Buy 6 or more and save! - $165.00 per bottle

2004 Opus One - WS 90
Spectator's notes: "Bordeaux-like in its structure and balance, showing cedary oak, dusty berry, dried currant and mineral, with hints of herb and sage. The flavors firm up on the finish, and this is rich and intense without being heavy. Needs decanting. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Best from 2009 through 2015."
$175.00 per bottle

Abacus IX
This is a solera-styled wine using a portion of ZD's Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve bottlings of the 1992 through 2006 vintages. The elegance of the older vintages counterpoints nicely with the exuberant fruit of the newer vintages resulting in a wine that is the best of both worlds. Extremely limited production of about 200 cases.
List price - $399.99 - Duke's price - $359.99 per bottle

Hundred Acre 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Kayli Morgan Vineyard - RP 92-95
Parker's notes: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard . . . seems like a cross between Pomerol's garagiste estate, Le Pin, and a flamboyant vintage of Cheval Blanc. This exotic, nearly over-the-top effort may not be as thick and juicy as the 2003, but aromatically, it is seductive and complex. Exhibiting opulence, elegance, and purity, along with abundant quantities of creme de cassis, cherries, sweet oak, and spice characteristics, low acidity, ripe tannin, and a multilayered texture, this sumptuous Cabernet should drink well for 10-15 years."
$795.00 per 3-pack case

Spottswoode 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon - RP 90
Parker's notes: ". . . a pretty wine with a deep ruby/purple color and a sweet nose of blueberries, black raspberries, and cassis with subtle oak and floral notes. The wine's purity, symmetry, and medium to full-bodied palate are supple and ideal for drinking now and over the next 15 or so years."
$110.00 per bottle

Plumpjack 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve - RP 96
Parker's notes: ". . . the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Estate is a blockbuster effort. This voluptuous, inky/purple-tinged offering boasts sweet aromas of blackberries, roasted coffee, chocolate, graphite, and subtle sweet oak. The color suggests a super-concentrated wine, but in the mouth, despite plenty of power, richness, and multidimensional mouthfeel, there are significant silky tannins. This gorgeous, plump Cabernet can be drunk now or cellared for two decades or more."
$225.00 per bottle - Sorry, limit of 1 bottle

Shafer 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon, Hillside Select - RP 95
Parker's notes: "One of the world's most extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignons . . . dense purple color is followed by aromas of camphor, black currants, licorice, crushed rocks, and white flowers . . . balance, purity, and length suggest it will drink well for 20-25 years."
$250.00 per bottle - Sorry, limit of 1 bottle

Araujo 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, Eisele Vineyard - RP 94-96
Parker's notes: "A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard (sadly, only 1,200 cases) is a stunner . . . it exhibits wonderful sweetness as well as subtle hints of a charcoal fire intermixed with acacia flowers, licorice, black currants, and a touch of incense. Dense and rich with well-integrated acidity, tannin, and alcohol, this is an atypically elegant offering. (The finest 2004 Napa Cabernets tend to be flamboyant and fruit-forward, but rarely elegant.) It should drink well young, and evolve for 15-20 years."
$299.99 per bottle - Sorry, limit of 1 bottle

2005 The Doctor (Krupp Brothers Estate)
Winemaker's notes: "This wine showcases grapes from the Krupp Estate Vineyard situated high above the Stag's Leap District. The Tempranillo (49%), Merlot (22%) and Malbec (8%) come from cool, shallow, Aiken soils that are ideal for optimal ripening. The Cabernet (21%) for this blend comes from an intense, rocky block that gets just the right amount of sun. Deep Garnet in color with a purple rim. Exotic aromas of Satsuma plums, spice, orange rind, cassis, black raspberries and Logan berries harmonizing with anise, cloves and vanilla. The palate is fresh and lively with focused intensity. Flavors of jasmine, lavender, black cherries and pomegranate contribute to a deliciously bright mid-palate with cedary oak leading to a long savory finish. ." This one hits the top of the Duke's scale. Very highly reccommended!
$75.00 per bottle

Grace Family Vineyards 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
Winemaker Gary Bookman has proclaimed the 2005 vintage as the best Grace ever! It displays a brilliant and deep garnet color, complex flavors of cassis, dark cherries, chocolate and licorice, with an extremely long finish. The tannins are soft and restrained, but are more than adequate to ensure decades of life. The hallmarks of Grace, harmony and balance, are more than evident.
$325.00 per bottle - 6-packs are available!

Dalla Valle 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon - WS 96
Spectators's notes: "Tremendous flavor, dark, ripe, rich and packed with black cherry, currant, anise, cedar and spice. Finishes with firm but deliciously well-integrated tannins. Best from 2003 through 2012."
$175.00 per bottle or $1,050.00 per 6-pack.
