Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon
Here it is, early August, and every Silver Oak fan (who among our readership isn't?) knows that the 2002 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has been released.
Silver Oak has that soft, attractive style that makes the wine so delicious, easy to drink and accessible upon release. To quote wine writer Robert Parker who awarded it 90 points, "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley offers abundant quantities of spice, vanillin, cedar, herbs, and smoke, soft, round, creamy-textured flavors, good black cherry and currant notes, and a spicy, medium-bodied, easy-going personality."
The Duke is offering this classic wine for $59.50 per bottle. Buy 6 or more and we will make it $55.00 per bottle. We have a limited number of magnums at $125.00 each.We still have some of the elegant Silver Oak 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa, (RP 92) on hand. Rich, deep and complex, this wine is a prime example of Silver Oak. It is lavishly oaked with a smooth, concentrated finish. This Napa gem is available at the Duke for $99.50 per bottle. Buy 6 or more and we will make it $95.00 per bottle. Mix and match the wines to reach the 6-bottle minimum for the special price! Call today to order yours! While we are mixing and matching, let's talk Twomey! We still have a modest supply of the 2002 Merlot that garnered Parker's attention and earned 94 points on his 100-point scale. His quote is high praise as he called it a "sex pot of a Merlot" and said, "An exotic perfume of pepper, herbs, black cherries, plums, and raspberries is accompanied by an exciting texture, a plush, fleshy palate, and a concentrated, long heady, moderately tannic finish. This wine should improve over the next 2-3 years and last for 10-14. Very impressive!" In 2000, Ray Duncan (who, with his family, owns Twomey Cellars) seized a rare opportunity and secured nine beautiful acres of land on Westside Road, in the heart of what many consider to be the finest Pinot Noir region in California, the Russian River appellation. Twomey 2004 Pinot Noir is an exceptional handcrafted wine, and the Duke is extremely pleased to present the latest vintage. Winemaker Daniel Baron describes it as, "a refined expression of this noble varietal." Displaying a light garnet color and a complex nose of cherries, star fruit, cardamom, rose petals and coffee, it possesses full bodied aromas that are beautifully echoed in the long, fruity finish. A very limited amount was produced and we are proud to offer it in the following combination packs:
