Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon
Last week, we sent out an email offering Hundred Acre 2004 Shiraz . We now find that our original offering price was mis-stated. The actual price of this highly-anticipated wine is $240.00 per bottle. The wine, produced in Australia's Barossa Valley from Hundred Acre's own Ancient Way Vineyard, is about to turn the world of wine upside down. (Pun on the wine's origin not intended!) The vineyard is located adjacent to famed Greenock Creek Winery and Vineyards and is very likely the most meticulously and expensively farmed piece of dirt on the planet. In a land of mostly automated processes, all the farming is done by hand, including harvesting of those succulent grapes. Famed viticulturist Jim Barbour travels from the Napa Valley several times a year to oversee the vineyard, as does consultant Philippe Melka. Hundred Acre partners Jayson Woodbridge and Chris Radomski and co-winemaker Helen Mawson also spend a great deal of time in the vineyard as well as in the winery. Jayson assures us that the wine will stand with the best Australia has to offer - Grange, Three Rivers and Greenock Creek - and may actually be the finest Shiraz in the world. Knowing his uncompromising attitude on excellence, we suspect that "fantastic" may be a gross understatement. The package will be identical to Hundred Acre's Cabernet Sauvignon - same elegant bottle, same closure, same hand-made wooden boxes, etc. The wine is scheduled for release in September of 2006. The Duke is pleased to offer this Southern Hemisphere gem to you for $240.00 per bottle. You can purchase 3-packs for $720.00 or 6-packs for $1,440.00. Production is EXTREMELY limited! Only 600 cases for the known universe with nearly three-quarters of the wine headed for the top restaurants in the world. The Duke is one of the few wine shops privileged to offer Hundred Acre 2004 Shiraz. Call the Duke today to obtain your share of this very rare wine!
