Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon

Even if your name isn't Alexander, you may reserve your share of Silver Oak 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley.

The 2000 vintage began with mild weather giving the vines a perfect start. Harvest started on time in September but the weather quickly turned very cool, allowing the grapes to hang longer and reach complete maturity. In fact, the harvest wasn't complete until November 1, the latest in Silver Oak history. The result is a classic, rich Cabernet Sauvignon with a nose of cassis, blueberries, blackberries and vanilla. It is luscious and full-bodied on the palate with an incredibly long finish of ripe berry fruit. Succinctly put - standard issue Silver Oak!!

Purchasing this wine will cause you a dilemma. Should I drink it now or should I cellar it? (Hint: There is no wrong answer to this one.) To help you have your cake and eat it, too, perhaps we should tell you that the price remains the same as it was for the sensational 1999 vintage and the elegant 1998 vintage. You can reserve yours at $59.50 per bottle. We'll make the price $55.00 per bottle with the purchase of 6 or more. Buy several bottles, some to enjoy in the near term and the rest over the next few years. The wine has an official release date of July 31, 2004, but you can reserve your share by calling today. This offer is good until August 31, 2004.

Life is a Cabernet!!!!

Our faithful readers also know that the Duncan Family, who owns Silver Oak, also owns Twomey Cellars (pictured left). Their 2001 Merlot from the volcanic hills in southeastern Napa is concentrated, balanced and silky smooth with a long, fruity finish. Robert Parker assigned it a rating of 90+ points and refered to it as ". . . tasting like a California version of a top notch Pomerol." We will have the Twomey 2001 Merlot available by July 31, 2004, at $59.50 per bottle or only $55.00 per bottle with the purchase of 6 or more.

Mixed cases of 6 or more bottles in any combination of Silver Oak and Twomey will qualify you for the lower per-bottle price. If you place your order before July 31, a 20% deposit is all that will be required to hold it.
