Cheers! from the Duke of Bourbon

Amuse Bouche burst onto the wine scene with their inaugural vintage, 2002, last year. The 2003 vintage of only 250 cases is now available on a futures basis for delivery in September of 2005. The Duke was proud to offer the first vintage and is equally proud to offer the 2003 version of what promises to be an incredible wine.

Famed winemaker Heidi Barrett(above, right) and her partner John Schwartz, who have been friends since childhood, teamed up with the goal to produce a Pomerol-style wine (think Petrus) from Napa Valley fruit. The vineyard was hand-picked (the Duke has a weakness for puns) by Heidi, but the exact location is still a closely held secret. Her credentials as a winemaker are top-of-the-heap, having made several wines that have achieved an amazing perfect score on the Parker scale - namely the 1992 and 1993 Maya and the 1992 and 1997 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon. In fact, Time magazine called her the wine diva of Napa and referred to her as "one of the world's top winemakers."

The Robb Report lists Amuse Bouche as one of the best wines in the world and calls it "fleshy, explosive, and lush, with huge plum and blackberry fruit on a stream of searing acidity."

Anthony Dias Blue of the San Jose Mercury News writes, "I just tasted the wine and it is the essence of merlot. It is the birth of a cult wine."

The Duke is offering this stylish and very rare wine on future for $250.00 per bottle. Included with the purchase of a 6-pack case is a beautiful, numbered, limited-edition lithograph of the label art signed by the artist, Guy Buffet.
