Cheers from the Duke of Bourbon! Great wine has a sense of a place the vineyard - the birthplace of any great wine. Such is the philosophy at the Adrian Fog Winery. They have selected small vineyards in cool climate locations to maintain the signature and personality of the land. Meticulous attention to detail is the watchword at Adrian Fog as they strive to bring us the absolute tops in Pinot Noir. The Savoy Vineyard is in the Mendocino coastal region where the warm days and cool, foggy nights are working 24/7 to make great grapes.

We were fortunate enough to sample Adrian Fog 2002 Pinot Noir, Savoy Vineyard yesterday and were nearly overwhelmed. What a sensational wine! This is one of the deepest, most flavorful Pinot Noirs we have ever tasted!

Well-known wine writer, Robert Parker has great things to say, as well. Here is a quote from his The Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard's bouquet merits 96 points as it is one of the most complete, complex grand cru Pinot Noirs one could ever smell from the New World. Forest floor, flower garden, sweet cherry, strawberry, crushed rocks, and smoky game-like scents represent an aromatic tour de force. The flavors are not quite at the same level, but they are superb nevertheless. This medium to dark ruby-colored Pinot possesses gorgeous sweetness as well as an expansive mouthfeel yet an ethereal lightness." RP gave it an overall score of 93 points. High praise indeed!

The winemaker sums it up a bit more succinctly: 'A Sexy Beast.'

Only 200 cases were made for the entire Pinot Noir-loving world and the Duke has secured a few for our faithful fans. The wine retails for $75.00 per bottle. We also have it discounted in three-packs at $215.00 or six-packs at $399.99.

At Adrian Fog, picking, racking and bottling are scheduled as close to the night of the full moon as possible but the wine can be enjoyed during any lunar phase.
