Here is another success story from the Duke's on-going effort to find everyday drinking wine that pleases the palate of our most discriminating customer at a very low price. Good friend, Rick Longoria, who has produced outstanding wines in the Santa Ynez area since 1982, has made an excellent 2000 Mt. Carmel Chardonnay. It hails from the 'hot,' new AVA of Santa Rita Hills. Those of you who are familiar with the Central Coast know Rick's unrelenting dedication to quality and the outstanding potential of Santa Rita Hills fruit.

Longoria 2000 Chardonnay, Mt. Carmel Vineyard has a beautiful light gold color, aromas of pear and honey and a full-bodied feel in the mouth. The notes in the aroma are repeated on the palate and the finish is long and fulfilling with a pleasant edge of minerality. The Duke's staff tried this Burgundian-style example of Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay at a recent dinner/tasting and were very impressed.

We certainly try to stay in touch with pricing and we were aware that the wine had a suggested retail price north of $30.00. When we learned that we were going to be able to bring this wine to you at the bargain price of $8.99 per bottle, we were astonished. We'll even save you another buck a bottle by buying 12 or more, making the price only $7.99 each. Believe us, this is great value for a Chardonnay produced by a winemaker so highly regarded.
