Howdy y'all from the Duke of Bourbon!

Each spring, in Kentucky, a sale is held where yearling thoroughbreds are auctioned. These horses have never been raced, but some of them command prices in the tens, even hundreds, of thousands of dollars. Why? Simple answer, it is their breeding. Look at their siblings, sires or dams or even further back into their lineage and you will see a history of racing success.
