Migration 2001 Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley

Just like its big brother, Goldeneye, this is real Pinot Noir - looks like it, smells like it and, best of all, tastes like it. An elegant wine, all the pieces are there and in balance. The aroma is fresh with plum, candied strawberry, cherry and raspberry but with the expected notes of earth and tobacco. The flavors are rich and forward with vanilla, blackberry, black cherry and caramel leading the way. Shake your head knowingly and say, 'Duckhorn has done it again!'

The wine is made at the Goldeneye estate in Philo, CA, the heart of the Anderson Valley, along the migratory pathway of the common Goldeneye duck. The Migration label, continuing the Duckhorn tradition, depicts a flock of migrating Goldeneye ducks along the Pacific Coast, the artwork of renowned wildlife artist David Maass. The original painting is part of the waterfowl art collection on display at the Goldeneye winery.
