Jarvis winemaker, Dimitri Tchelistcheff, has fashioned a luscious wine with intense Chardonnay fruit. An unusually cool summer and mild fall combined to allow the grapes extra hang-time to ripen to absolute perfection. The juice was barrel fermented in new oak and the wine aged sur-lie. The resulting wine is lush in fruit with subtle nuances of toasty vanilla and butter and yet has perfect balance and a long lingering finish. The wine is suitable for aging but is certainly drinkable right now. With the holidays fast approaching, here's the perfect wine to serve at home or to take to a friend's home as a visitor's gift.
