"Great Tastes!"
Featuring:
Long Vineyards • Arns • Robert Craig • Caymus Vineyards • Mer Soleil

Dear Wine Associates:

We most cordially invite you to join us on Wednesday, June 16, 1999, as we offer "GREAT TASTES" of an outstanding selection of great wines from five truly great wine properties. Our equally great guests will include Bob Long of Long Vineyards, Sandi Belcher of Arns, Robert Craig of Robert Craig Wine Cellars, and Carol Klincke of Caymus Vineyards and Mer Soleil. Our seminar will highlight several exciting new releases as well as two special "futures" presentations.

LONG VINEYARDS, owned by our good friends Bob Long and Zelma Long, is located in the eastern hills of St. Helena in Napa Valley. For almost 25 years, Bob, Zelma and Winemaker Sandi Belcher have produced some of California's greatest wines, which we have presented at numerous Wine Association events. Bob will surely charm you as he shares a "futures" great taste of his excellent 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as four outstanding current releases, including the magnificent dessert Johannisberg Riesling.

ARNS, co-owned by talented vineyardist John Arns and our accomplished friend Sandi Belcher, is located in the premium Howell Mt. Area of Napa Valley. Their absolutely stunning Cabernet Sauvignons have been extremely well-received since their 1993 vintage debut. We are delighted to have Sandi and her sparkling personality here to comment on our "futures" presentation of her great 1997 version.

ROBERT CRAIG WINE CELLARS, owned by Robert Craig, of course, has established his superb estate vineyards in the eastern foothills of the Napa Valley. He produces limited amounts of distinctive, elegant wines from some of the Valley's best sources. Known originally for his great vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignons and the exceptional Affinity (a Bordeaux-style blend), Robert is now producing great Chardonnays as well. Happily, Robert will be on hand to help us present his very limited 1997 Carneros Chardonnay, 1997 Affinity and 1996 Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon produced from grapes on the Robin Williams Vineyard.

CAYMUS VINEYARDS, owned by Charlie & Lorna Wagner and their son, Chuck Wagner, Jr., is located in the prime Rutherford District of Napa Valley. Each of the wines they produce is considered among the very best in the world! We are particularly proud to offer a great taste of their rare, precious, definitive Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon from the exceptional 1995 vintage, as well as their "rebel" Conundrum, an exciting blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Chardonnay, Muscat Canelli and Semillon. We are extremely pleased to welcome Carol Klincke, Caymus' friendly Western States Sales Manager, to represent the Wagners and their great wines.

MER SOLIEL is Chuck Wagner, Jr.'s vineyard property located in Monterey County at the northern extremity of Santa Lucia Highlands, an appellation that Chuck feels will become the center for quality early-ripening varieties within the Central Coast region. The Mer Soleil Chardonnay is a rich, stunning blend of several clones, each offering different dimensions and depth. Carol Klincke will bring further explanation as we taste the great 1996 vintage of this superb wine.
