It's been a while, but we're delighted to have the opportunity to hold another exciting wine dinner at our friend Piero Selvaggio's Posto Ristorante. Please join us on Thursday, February 5, 1998, as we present MR. JAMES VULETIC of PROVIDENCE WINERY in New Zealand and his world-class wines, as well as an impressive selection of wines from Washington State in the U.S.A.

PROVIDENCE is the dream of Auckland attorney James Vuletic, who received rave reviews from around the world for his debut 1993 vintage, an exceptionally fine red Bordeaux-style blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec grown in Matakana, a sub-region of Auckland, New Zealand. This "knockout" wine has been described as a cross between Cheval Blanc and Haut Brion; Mr. Vuletic's models are Petrus, Le Pin, Lefleur and Cheval Blanc. Production is extremely low and we are lucky to be able to offer two vintages this evening as we warmly welcome Mr. Vuletic to share his success story.

To complete our wine list, we are pleased to present several rare and impressive selections from three outstanding Washington State wineries. LEONETTI CELLAR, founded by Gary & Nancy Figgins, is located in Walla Walla and produces some of the most sought-after Cabernet Sauvignons and Merlots in the U.S.A. L'ECOLE NO. 41, founded in 1983 by Jean & Baker Ferguson, is located in Lowden just west of Walla Walla. Housed in what was once a rural schoolhouse from Washington State School District #41, it is now run by the Ferguson's daughter and son-in-law, Megan & Marty Clubb. Their 7,000-case production includes absolutely outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Semillon. HYATT VINEYARDS was established by Leland & Lynda Hyatt in 1983 just outside of Zilah, Washington, in the heart of the Yakima Valley. Only 200-300 cases are produced of each of their coveted "reserve" Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons. And they even make one of the world's greatest dessert treats...a true ice wine (22% residual sugar)!

To accompany these rare and wonderful wines, Posto's Master Chef Luciano Pellegrini has created a truly outstanding dinner menu.

The cost for this special dinner is $75.00 each for the member and the first guest, all inclusive; additional guests and non-member reservations are $80.00 each.
