"Dinner with the Cabernets of Nickel & Nickel
and the Cognacs of Delamain... at POSTO"

Special Guests:
Larry Maguire and Charles Braastad-Delamain

Dear Wine Associates:
We're sure you'll want to join us on Thursday, September 13, 2001, for a most remarkable evening! Not only will we début the fabulous 1998 vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignons of NICKEL & NICKEL, plus the luscious 1998 DOLCE, but we will present an exotic tasting of the superb DELAMAIN COGNACS. What's more, our amazing dinner for this evening has been designed by Posto/Valentino Proprietor PIERO SELVAGGIO and Valentino Executive Chef ANGELO AURIANA, who also will lead the Posto kitchen staff in its preparation. How can you resist?

NICKEL & NICKEL, the creation of Far Niente Winery partners Gil Nickel, Dirk Hampson and Larry Maguire, specializes in only single-vineyard wines, each with a distinctive character associated with its unique location. We were proud to have presented the Southern California premiere of Nickel & Nickel wines last year and we are equally pleased to welcome back PARTNER LARRY MAGUIRE to help us début their exceptional 1998 vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignons this evening. Each one is extremely limited and we are honored to be among the few select wine shops to offer these exciting wines.

The John C. Sullenger Vineyard, Rock Cairn Vineyard and Stelling Vineyard are located in three different areas of Oakville, while the Carpenter Vineyard is located just east of the city of Napa at the base of the Vaca Mountain range. The wines definitely express the character of their origins: the 1998 Sullenger is harmonious and plush; the 1998 Rock Cairn is richly structured and powerful; the 1998 Carpenter is bold and impressive; the 1998 Stelling is a classic study in elegance, structure and complexity. DOLCE, also a partnership between Nickel, Hampson and Maguire, is a late-harvest blend of 76% Semillon and 24% Sauvignon Blanc with rich, exotic fruit flavors and honeyed botrytis character, which has been favorably compared to the famed Château d'Yquem.

COGNAC is brandy distilled exclusively from wines produced in the Angoumois and Saintonge areas of Cognac, France, the heart of which is called Grande Champagne. The history of Delamain Cognac can be traced back as far as the year 1625, with the formal founding of what today is Delamain & Co. dating back to 1824. According to author Bruno Sepulchre is his book Le Livre du Cognac published in 1983, "The Delamain family is to Cognac what Rembrandt is to painting." Their Cognacs are known for quality and prestige and offer the finest, purest and most authentic expression in Grande Champagne. We are honored and delighted to have as our guest this evening MR. CHARLES BRAASTAD-DELAMAIN, the son of Managing Director Alain Braastad-Delamain, who will lead us through a most intriguing tasting of four outstanding Delamain Cognacs.
