Dear Wine Associates,

We are delighted to invite you to join us on Monday, May 15, 2000, as we present "DINNER WITH THE WINES OF THE 1997 BORDEAUX VINTAGE... at POSTO". Our very special guest this evening will be Mr. Peter Sichel, one of the world's foremost wine authorities and international wine judge as well as the current proprietor of Chateau Fourcas Hosten. We will also enjoy the presence of our friend Mr. Don Schliff who is a noted importer of and expert on Bordeaux wines.

We're excited about this opportunity to taste the 1997 Bordeaux wines. Though early press reports were somewhat cautious about the vintage, time has proven that the wines are far superior than reported and many have garnered some high scores in various wine publications. And, believe it or not, prices for these wines have become extremely affordable. Our guest Don Schliff enthuses that, at last, we have a Bordeaux vintage that is drinkable early on without have to cellar the wines for a long time, yet they also have the ability to age gracefully. In fact, these charming wines are comparable to those of the wonderful 1962 vintage, many of which are still drinking beautifully.

Our selection from the 19997 vintage includes the exceptional cru bourgeois from Mr. Sichel's Ch. Fourcas Hosten, several outstanding grands crus, two venerable premier crus (Ch. Latour & Ch. Margaux) and luscious Sauternes. Posto proprietor Piero Selvaggio has designed a delectable menu to complement these excellent 1997 Bordeaux wines and we are certain this will be an evening to remember.
