We are delighted to invite you to join us on Wednesday, February 16, 2000, as we present "DINNER WITH THE WINES OF DOMAINE CARNEROS... at POSTO." We have paired the world-class Sparkling Wines and Pinot Noir of this magnificent Taittinger property with an excellent menu designed by Posto proprietor Piero Selvaggio to bring you a truly delicious evening.

DOMAINE CARNEROS was established in 1987 as a joint venture between Champagne Taittinger of France and Kobrand Corporation (importers of high-quality wines from around the world). The winery, situated atop a knoll surrounded by its vineyards in the beautiful Carneros area of Southern Napa and Sonoma, is a classic 18th century chateau-style building inspired architecturally by the historic Chateau de la Marquetterie owned by Champagne Taittinger. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the principal grapes used in making Champagne, excel in the Carneros microclimate, making it an ideal location to produce sparkling wine. Their superb hand-crafted wines include a super-premium Brut Vintage Methode Champenoise, a luxury proprietary Blanc de Blancs cuvee called "Le Reve," and a beautiful Pinot Noir. Their sparkling wine style is reminiscent of the Taittinger hallmark of lightness and delicacy, with exceptional refinement and finesse. These wines exhibit the subtle ripe fruit richness of the Pinot Noir balanced by the elegant depth and structure of the Chardonnay. Their rich, intense Pinot Noir is one of the highest quality in Northern California and is always rare and limited.

EILEEN CRANE is the dynamic and creative Managing Director and Winemaker at Domaine Carneros. Originally trained at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America for a career in the culinary industry, Eileen turned a passion for wine into a profession by enrolling in the U.C. Davis Enology and Viticulture program. Upon completing her studies, she was hired by Domaine Chandon, where she became Assistant Winemaker, moved on to be the Winemaker/Vice President of Gloria Ferrer Caves, and then attained her position at Domaine Carneros, where she oversaw the planning and development of the entire operation. Her talents are evident in the wonderful, stylish wines she produces.

The cost for this "Dinner with the Wines of Domaine Carneros" is $75.00 each for the member and the first guest, all inclusive; additional guest and non-member reservations am $85.00 each. Since space is limited, we encourage you to make your reservations promptly. Full payment must accompany your reservation. No tickets are issued; you will be notified if your reservation cannot be accepted. Cancellation deadline for full refund is February 14. To maintain an atmosphere of intimacy, this event will be limited to 60 people, so we encourage you to make your reservations promptly.
